Built in buoyancy of 6.1kg by way of closed cell foam, sufficient to bring an unconscious person to the surface and turn them on their back. Full buoyancy to overcome wave motion by oral inflation providing 18.2kg minimum buoyancy. This jacket features a whistle and lifting becket, and is supplied to the UK MOD.

The requirement of the General Service Lifejacket is to provide a readily carried package, which when deployed with normal clothing or a once only abandonment suit will provide personnel of 57Kg to 140Kg with a lifejacket for general use and abandoning ship. The lifejacket will provide support in the sea for either conscious or unconscious personnel for a period of 24 hours after abandoning ship by jumping/falling from a height of 60 feet with the lifejacket fully inflated, and comes with its own pouch.

This lifejacket is similar in design to the General Service MkIV. It is however a fully automatic/manually inflated lifejacket fitted with a 40gm CO² cylinder. This lifejacket is fitted into a Valise Cover ensuring that it is easily fitted with a very low profile.
